Structure

BANNS is made up of:

1. a general body (general membership) who pay an annual membership fee
2. an Executive Board made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary elected annually from the general membership.
3. members of arts and cultural organizations.

Goals and Objectives

• To foster the development of the arts among African Nova Scotian.
• To establish a communications network and support system for African Nova Scotian artists and performers.
• To identify the needs of African Nova Scotian artists/performers and facilitate the development of resources to meet those needs.
• To create oppotunities for African Nova Scotian artists/performers to share, develop and expose their work.
• To provide a vehicle for the articulation of the African Nova Scotian Arts perspective in regards to issues and concerns that affect the African Nova SCotian community.
• To promote the inclusion of AFrican Nova Scotian Arts in the province's arts and cultural institutions, arts and cultural collections and the way the province represents itself to the rest of the world.
• To promote excellence among African Nova Scotian artistic creators.
