Angel Gannon

Angel Gannon, a multi-media artist and painter, moved to Halifax in 1999 from Montreal, Quebec and has family roots in East Preston and Africville. She received her art education from Lasalle College of The Arts in Montreal and creates clay sculpture, woodcarvings, T-shirt designs and oil paintings.

She is a member of Dullard Des Ormeoux Art Association of Montreal and the Black Artists Network of Nova Scotia (BANNS).  Her work explores womanist spirituality and African Nova Scotian community experiences and history especially of Africville.
