Debra Jordan began quiltmaking in 1995 after attending a quiltmaking workshop given by Myla Borden and Marlene Dorrington in New Glasgow.
She makes traditional patterns and also uses appliqué and embroidery on her quilts. Lately Jordan has been experimenting with her own quilt designs that vary traditional quilt patterns. She also creates picture quilts that depict historical and community events.
She is a member of the Vale Road Quiltmakers Collective. and a participant in the BANNS Secret Codes exhibition. Her work was exhibited in My Ancestor’s Garden (2007) and the opening reception of Mary Bendolph: Gees Bend Quilts and Beyond exhibition at Pier 21,
